Truck Driver-Streets Dept.

Salary

This position is full-time and includes full benefits.
The job grade is 8A and pays $1409.02 semi-monthly
Working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

Ability to follow oral / written directions
Must possess a High School diploma or GED
Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes, preferred 
Must produce a negative drug/alcohol test
Prefer knowledge of the Texas Motor Vehicle Code relating to the operation of small trucks            on public streets and highways.
Must have the ability to drive a multi-geared small truck safely and effectively
Knowledge of safety rules to be followed in operation of equipment, tools, and vehicles

POLICE LATERAL ENTRY HIRING NOTICE

REQUIREMENTS:
Lateral Entry Officer Applicants are not required to complete a written examination as part of the hiring process and may be considered for appointment provided applicants meet the following eligibility requirements:
a) At time of application, each LEO applicant must be actively employed or have been employed as a full-time paid police officer, provided that:
i) The applicant is certified by TCOLE; ii) If not currently employed, the applicant must not have a break in service as a Police Officer of more than 180 days prior to the applicant's appointment date. Individuals with greater than 180 days break in service that have maintained the required TCOLE training hours, and provides a current psychological examination approved by the department and TCOLE may be considered for appointment as a LEO.
iii)   Has a total of two (2) years of active service for one or more municipal, county, state or federal law enforcement agencies that has at least 20 sworn police officers and handles a full array of urban police work (i.e., respond to all types of calls for law enforcement services).
iv)   LEO applicants who work or worked for an agency that has fewer than 20 sworn officers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
v)    Be no less than 21 years old and have not reached their 56th birthday at the time they apply to be hired as a LEO.
vi)   Applicants must pass the Department’s physical agility course.
vii)  Applicants must successfully pass the Department’s TCOLE approve background investigation.
Compensation in addition to base pay:
Longevity pay:  $5 per month times the number of years of service
Education pay: $50/month Associates Degree
            $100/mo Bachelor’s Degree
                                  $150/mo Master’s Degree 
Retention pay:  $900/year after completion of 1st year  
                                   $1500/year after completion of 2nd year and each year thereafter
Certification pay: $50/month Intermediate
                                      $100/month Advanced
                                      $150/month Master

Pumper/Operator in Training

Salary

This position is full-time and includes full benefits.
The job grade is 10A and pays $1,604.42 semi-monthly.
Working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the potential for short notice schedule changes which may include overtime.

Qualifications

Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
Must possess a High School diploma or GED
Possess a Valid Texas Driver’s License
Texas D Water License is preferred or must be able to obtain within 12 months 
Must be able to obtain a “C” Ground Water License from TCEQ within two (2) years.
Must pass State of Texas background check
Must know basic algebra and general math skills, computer knowledge, general knowledge of the operations of pumps, motors, chemical feed equipment, lab skills and knowledge of minor electrical repairs and trouble shooting.  This may consist of the use of an OHM meter for electrical trouble shooting.
Must be skilled in the operation of a tractor shredder and forklift.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, twist and climb ladders and stairs.
Ability to work in various types of weather, including safely driving in inclement weather to report to work as required.
Must be able to arrive at Water Treatment Plant within 20 minutes when called for emergency duties after 5 pm and on the weekend.
Must have a phone and be easily reached after hours, holidays and on the weekends.

Qualifications

Some construction experience preferred such as plumbing, concrete work and be familiar with heavy equipment
Must be able to work safely around trenching and excavation sites and in small confined areas.
Experience with hand tools, power tools, jack hammers, gas power cut off saws
Must be able to be involved on a call out rotation once per month and in addition work overtime and on weekends on short notice
Must be able to bend, stoop, climb in and out of excavation sites several times per day and also walk several miles per day

Sweetwater Economic Development MDD - Asst. Marketing/Administrative Director

Sweetwater Economic Development is seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Assistant Marketing/Administrative Director.  The position reports directly to and under the supervision of the Executive Director. 

Sweetwater Economic Development is a public entity funded by a ½ cent sales tax for Economic Development.  The organization is governed by a (5) five-person Board of Directors, appointed by the Sweetwater City Commission. 

Responsibilities: essential duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following;

Website monitoring and updates
Board administration (communications, minutes, meeting preparation, financials, etc.)
Preparing Accounts Payable twice a month
Assist in communications w/ board members, clients, elected officials, business leaders, etc.
Schedule all travel arrangements
Oversee/trouble shoot all in-house technology and devices (Mac/Apple)
Administer and Oversee Sweetwater Economic Development programs
Assist in marketing and public relations
Purchase/maintain promotional items
Event/ Meeting planning
Gather/organize data collection
Attend local/regional meetings as needed
Some travel required
Responsible for daily operations of the office and all other duties as needed
