Purification Plant
Overview
Water Purification Plant
The Purification Department operates the Water Treatment Plant, which receives raw water from the City's three reservoirs and water well field.

Responsibilities
Purification responsibilities include:
  • Operating and preventive maintenance of the water plant
  • Daily laboratory testing of plant process efficiency
  • Continual bacteriological and chemical sampling of the distribution system
  • Meeting requirements of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)

Operators
Plant operators are certified and licensed by the TCEQ. The operators control the plant outside normal business hours through laptops that have remote SCADA capabilities.
