Water Source
The Water Source of Supply Department operates the raw water delivery system, which supplies water for Sweetwater and its contract customers.

Facilities
Water facilities consist of three City-owned lakes, seven raw water pump stations, and associated collection lines.

Responsibilities
The Sweetwater Water Source of Supply Department responsibilities include:
  • Watershed patrol
  • Operation of two treated water pump stations, standpipes, and elevated storage tank
  • Telemetry control and monitoring systems
  • Maintenance of 34 municipal water wells, 14 irrigation wells, approximately 3,000 acres of City-owned well field property and 1,300 acres leased property
  • Septic tank inspections
  • Lake lot leases
  • Enforcement of City Codes at all three lakes
